Terms of Use
1. The service
Starcie is an AI assistant that can generate text and files, analyze uploaded content, search public sources, and—when you connect one—use supported third-party plugins. Features, models, limits, and availability may change as the service improves.
2. Your account
You are responsible for your account activity and for keeping your sign-in methods secure. Provide accurate information and do not share access in a way that defeats usage limits or security controls. If you cannot legally agree to these terms in your country, do not use the service.
3. AI output
Starcie produces probabilistic output and may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or unsuitable for your situation. Verify important information independently. Do not rely on Starcie as a substitute for qualified medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice.
4. Your content
You keep your rights in prompts, uploads, comments, and other content you provide. You grant Starcie the limited permission needed to process that content, deliver the requested feature, keep content you choose to save, maintain security, and comply with law. Only upload content you have the right to use.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use Starcie to break the law, harm people, invade privacy, distribute malware, impersonate others, bypass safeguards or limits, access accounts without permission, or infringe intellectual-property rights. Automated abuse and attempts to enter administrative systems without authorization are prohibited.
6. Plugins and third parties
Connected plugins remain subject to their provider’s terms and privacy practices. Starcie accesses a plugin only after you authorize it. You can disconnect a plugin to remove Starcie’s stored connection token. Third-party availability is outside Starcie’s control.
7. Availability and liability
The service is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Starcie does not guarantee uninterrupted operation or error-free output and is not responsible for losses caused by unverified AI output, third-party services, or misuse. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
8. Enforcement and changes
Access may be limited or ended to protect users, the service, or legal compliance. Material changes to these terms should be communicated through the service or the updates page before they take effect where required by law.
Privacy Notice
What is processed
Depending on the features you use, Starcie processes account identifiers, email address, display name, profile picture, prompts, responses, uploaded files, saved conversations, update comments, usage and security information, newsletter choices, and connected-plugin credentials and data.
Why it is processed
Data is used to provide and secure the service, authenticate accounts, save requested content, enforce fair-use limits, operate connected plugins, send opted-in updates, diagnose failures, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Processing is based on providing the service you request, legitimate security and reliability interests, consent where required, and applicable legal obligations.
Service providers
Starcie uses infrastructure and services that may include Netlify for hosting, Google Firebase for authentication and account data, Google Gemini for AI processing, Resend for opted-in email, and the providers of plugins you connect, including Google, Spotify, and Canva. Data is shared only as needed for the requested feature and subject to those providers’ terms.
Storage, security, and transfers
Saved content is retained while it is needed for your account or until you delete it, subject to necessary security, backup, and legal retention. Temporary chats are not intended to appear in saved history. Plugin tokens are protected server-side and retained until disconnection or expiry. Providers may process data outside the EEA using the safeguards required by applicable data-protection law.
Your choices and rights
You can avoid optional plugins, disconnect them, delete saved chats, and unsubscribe from email updates. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, or transfer personal data and to object to certain processing or withdraw consent. AI & EU Transparency
You are interacting with an AI system. Starcie is not a human. Its chat responses and generated files are produced by AI unless a feature clearly says otherwise.
What to expect
AI-generated content can look confident even when it is wrong. Check important information and source material. Starcie identifies assistant messages in the interface and does not present itself as a human worker. Human review is not guaranteed.
Connected services
Typing a supported @plugin mention checks whether that plugin is connected before a request is accepted. Relevant plugin activity is shown in Starcie’s work log. Plugin data is treated as untrusted context and must not be treated as instructions.
European rules
